Riaan Venter

Riaan is a chartered chemical engineer with more than 25 years’ experience in minerals processing and hydrometallurgy, with operational and consulting experience as a metallurgist, process, and process control engineer. Riaan has extensive expertise in process development, flowsheet design
and optimisation in uranium, vanadium, rare earths, copper, magnetite, phosphate and precious metals refining, and can design and improve comminution, flotation, magnetic separation, leaching (acid/alkaline, heap and tank), solid-liquid separation, solvent extraction, ion exchange and downstream refining circuits.  Furthermore, he has experience in all aspects of testwork management, and a strong track record in plant commissioning, debottlenecking, optimisation & upgrades.

He has worked on projects in Africa, central Asia, the middle East, South America and Europe and has been based in Australia since 2009.  He is fluent in English and Afrikaans.
