6-8 September 2023

MineScope exhibited at Africa Down Under this year, for the first time since 2019. ADU2023 was held at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Perth from 6-8 September.

Visitors to the MineScope booth could win a bottle of Henschke’s 2012 vintage from their single vineyard Hill of Grace estate simply by guessing how many bricks had been used in our model of a gold processing plant. The model and competition generated lots of interest and there were a lot of entries.

The winner was Karel Maly from Aurum Discovery.  When asked if he was really into wine, confessed that as a Czech, he preferred beer!  MineScope’s Technical Director, founder and resident oenophile, Michael Davis, offered Karel the cash value of the wine instead, which Karel happily accepted. Michael has returned the bottle to his cellar.

Lego and wine aside, ADU2023 was an amazing opportunity to network with lots of potential new African mining clients—as well as catch up with several of our existing clients.  MineScope is currently working on several projects in West Africa, and also has a wealth of prior experience of working in multiple countries across Africa, in a number of commodities, and it was great to be able to share some of the details of this work with attendees at ADU.
